Reading The Bible: Day 1

This plan takes us through the entire Bible in one year. The scriptures are divided up into 16 "parts" and organized in semi-chronological order. You'll read about two or three chapters a day. One psalm is listed each day for you to slowly pray through, making its words your own. We'd love for you to share your thoughts with others in the church by clicking the button at the bottom of this message. Thanks for joining us on this journey as we are so excited to see how God changes your life over these next 365 days.

Questions to consider:

- What stuck out for you?

- What does this set of scriptures teach us about accountability? How can we be more accountable to ourselves, families, friends, and God? How can we be accountable to this plan?

- God's anger at Adam and Eve for eating of the fruit leads to hundreds of years of female suppression under men. With the way Jesus valued women, I'm not sure God ever wanted the world to be this way. How has speaking with anger affected others in your life in a negative way?

Prayer:

Blessed God,

Thank you for creating this beautiful world, and thank you for creating me in your image. On the days when I feel sad and unworthy, I am reminded that I am a child of God. Lead me to quell my anger so that I do not diminish another child of God's joy. I am open to how you will guide my life in this next year as I study your word and I am eager for the ways I will be changed. Lead me today and every day forth.

In your most holy name, Amen.

See you tomorrow!
