Set in the fictional town of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, the play takes audiences on a journey through the seemingly mundane lives of its characters, highlighting the beauty and significance in everyday moments. Although it was first performed in 1938, Wilder's exploration of human existence and the universal themes it touches upon still resonate with audiences today. The play begins in the year 1901 and spans over a decade, presenting three acts that depict different stages of life: daily routines, love and marriage, and death and the afterlife.
