Reading the Bible Day 349

Hello! Welcome friends to our final epistle, the book of Jude! Jude claims to be the brother of James (the Just) which also means that he would be another brother of Jesus. Jude's short letter (only 25 verses) is a historically disputed book of the canon as it is extremely similar to 2 Peter. Many scholars believe that they were originally the same letter, though syntax is slightly different. Finally, Jude ends with what is considered the best doxology in all of the Bible. You might think the doxology is specific to the usually "praise God from whom all blessings flow" song that is sung after the offering, but a doxology is any short hymn of praise. So, when you reach verses 24-25 try to note of what makes something a doxology and then consider writing one yourself!

  2. Having now completed all of the epistles - what is the central message of the epistles that sticks with you?

Praying the Hymns

Our prayer for today is inspired by hymn 349 - Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. To those of you who frequent our services you might recognize this as one of our prayer responses! The version I am sharing below is a slightly different one but I think you'll enjoy Daigle's spin on it.
