Hi friends! Today is the big reveal of the ideal King according to the Jewish community. KINGGGGG DDDAAAAAAVVVVIIIIIIDDDDDDDDD. I think David sucks, but I'm also weird. Anyways, today's reading is a fun one with David's call story, David's relationship with Saul, David's battle against Goliath and some really fun connections to Jesus using numbers. Look for the numbers. 40 days. the usage of 7. Lots of holy numbers being used here. And David being from Bethlehem. I mean come onnn, could it be more obvious? I love little Bible notes - so fun.

Questions to Consider
What does this teach me about God?
What does this teach me about humanity?
What about the psalm sticks out to me? How does it connect to the main reading?
What about David do I connect with or admire so far?
- My Thoughts -
I'm abstaining from my thoughts here but I implore you to listen to this TED talk from Malcolm Gladwell about another angle on the David and Goliath story. It's facisnating. Absolutely riveting.
Prayer:
God, help me to face the goliaths in my life. Help me face those things that stop me in my tracks and taunt me and try to convince me I'm not enough. Let me be reminded that when I am a child of God I am enough. No matter what I am enough and nothing can defeat me when I have the God Angel's armies on my side.
