Good morning, friends! Welcome back to the Gospel of Luke. I feel like I've said this nearly everyday since we started but today features some really popular and loved stories of Jesus including but not limited to the Lord's Prayer, the Good Samaritan, and parable of the lamp stand. The gift about familiar and well loved stories is that you don't need as much mental power to process the reading as in most cases you already know what's coming next. This allows you the opportunity to read it slower and to try to find something you hadn't considered before or understood before. I hope you experience the blessing of God as you read this. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Questions to Consider
What does this teach me about Jesus?
What story is most meaningful to me? Why is that so?
What is the central "theme" of todays reading?
No commentary today as the Bible Project will be doing that for you. Today is an overview video that captures not only a little of what you've read but also what is coming up ahead.
Praying the Hymns
Our prayer for today is inspired by hymn 272 in our hymnal - Sing of Mary, Pure and Lowly.
1 Sing of Mary meek and lowly,
Virgin-mother pure and mild,
Sing of God's own Son most holy,
Who became her little child.
Fairest child of fairest mother,
God the Lord who came to earth,
Word made flesh, our very brother,
Takes our nature by his birth.
2 Sing of Jesus, son of Mary,
In the home at Nazareth.
Toil and labor cannot weary
Love enduring unto death.
Constant was the love he gave her,
Though he went forth from her side,
Forth to preach, and heal, and suffer,
Till on Calvary he died.
3 Glory be to God the Father;
Glory be to God the Son;
Glory be to God the Spirit;
Glory to the Three in One.
From the heart of blessed Mary,
From all saints the song ascends,
And the Church the strain reechoes
Unto earth's remotest ends.
