Reading the Bible Day 145

Hi friends! Welcome back to another episode of Job and friends hash out their differences. Whereas the previous days arguments felt rooted in cause and affect / blame, these are more subdued. They seem more logical, like a decective really interested in trying to figure out the cause. Yes, they still insert these moments of blame, but there's much deeper conversations present here. What will stick out to you today? Let's find out!

Questions to Consider

  1. What does this teach me about God? Or, since God is rather silent here, what does this teach me about my perception of God?

  2. What does this teach me about humanity and our ability to cope with ambivalence?

  3. Where do I fall in the debate with Job, God, and Job's friends? If they looked to me - what would I say?

Prayer

Our prayer today is inspired by hymn number 145 in our hymnal - Morning Has Broken

This rendition is from an all boys choir and I just thought it sounded pretty. Words beneath the video if you wanna sing along or simply pray the words!

Morning has broken like the first morning Blackbird has spoken like the first bird Praise for the singing, praise for the morning Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from Heaven Like the first dewfall on the first grass Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning Born of the one light, Eden saw play Praise with elation, praise every morning God's recreation of the new day
