Education

Adult J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Sessions

Each Sunday morning two different ongoing Adult classes meet at 9:45. The Journey’s class meets in the Fireside Room and is led by Kim Berger. They enjoy a variety of short-term studies including lectionary Bible studies, video series that take you to the holy lands, Adam Hamilton series, and much more.

The Pillars and Bridges class is led by Gordon Brunson and offers more opportunities for discussion and spiritual growth, based on various books or videos.

Music Programs

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is open to singers 7th grade and older. We have a tremendously enthusiastic and gifted volunteer group of 20 to 25 singers which sings most Sundays, September through May. The group is friendly, spiritual, a bit rambunctious (at times), dedicated, gifted, and a lot of fun. The choir is an abundant source for fellowship and relationship building at the center of the church community.

The choir regularly sings at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday services and rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m., with some additional or extended rehearsals for special occasions/services during the year. In addition, the choir sings Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, two Christmas Eve services, and at least four times a year for the 8:30 a.m. service including All Music Sunday during Advent. The choir sings a wide spectrum of music from Renaissance to Contemporary, including both accompanied and a cappella music.

No auditions are required; ability to sing on pitch is. Consistency of attendance, while desired, is not mandatory and we welcome new singers of all levels of experience.

The Ringing Bells

The Ringing Bells is the volunteer hand bell choir of the United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls. The Ringing Bells rehearse weekly on Tuesday mornings, and play three to four times a year during the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00a.m. services. We welcome anyone who desires to serve the church through music, is able to read music, is willing to learn the art of playing hand bells, and wants to be in fellowship with other committed musicians.

Fellowship & Fun

United Methodist Women (UMW)

The programs of the United Methodist Women include individual growth, spiritual enrichment, education for mission, social issues awareness, leadership development, and financial support for mission programs and projects locally, throughout the United States and around the world.

We welcome all women to join us in building a supportive community of women; to be advocates for the oppressed and dispossessed with emphasis on the needs of women and children; and to engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social action.

Within United Methodist Women are Circles or communities. These Circles are: Ida Goode, Lydia, and Rachel. These communities of women nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, leadership, and transformation. And they present a unique opportunity for developing cherished personal friendships.

The Chagrin Falls United Methodist Women invite you to participate in any project or program you believe to be significant or meaningful to you. Luncheon meetings are held at the church in Harris Hall at noon on the second Thursday of most months. Please call the church office for details.
