The United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls offers a wide variety of educational experiences for Christians and seekers of all ages. Children, youth, and adults meet in various classes on Sunday mornings at 9:45 for our J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) Sessions. We also frequently offer individual programs and short-term opportunities for Bible Study and other areas of Christian growth. In addition, our Parents’ Morning Out and Methodist Preschool have a long history of helping children to grow.
Adult J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Sessions
Each Sunday morning two different ongoing Adult classes meet at 9:45. The Journey’s class meets in the Fireside Room and is led by Kim Berger. They enjoy a variety of short-term studies including lectionary Bible studies, video series that take you to the holy lands, Adam Hamilton series, and much more.
The Pillars and Bridges class is led by Gordon Brunson and offers more opportunities for discussion and spiritual growth, based on various books or videos.

J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Sessions
Each Sunday morning during the school year we provide J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Sessions at 9:45. J.A.M. Sessions is a rotational model Sunday school where we travel to different stations each week as we learn about the Bible and God, experience God’s grace, and grow in our faith. Children’s J.A.M. Sessions are for children age 3 through children in Grade 6.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer our church is transformed for a week of exciting experiences for around 100 children and 50 volunteers. Vacation Bible School 2012 is scheduled for June 11-15 from 9-11:30 a.m. Church members may register starting May 1st. In order to be fair to all, registration will open to the public on May 14th.
The Methodist Preschool
The Methodist Preschool was established in 1963 and provides an enriching early childhood experience for three-, four-, and five-year olds. The Methodist Preschool offers a parent participation program, where together, parents and teachers nurture young minds. Through participation, parents enjoy the experience of being involved in their child’s preschool education.
We strive to create a warm, loving, learning environment that stimulates creativity and produces an atmosphere conducive to developing a positive self-image for each child. For more information or to learn how to register your child, go to themethodistpreschool.com
PMO (Parents’ Morning Out)
The Parents’ Morning Out (PMO) program of the United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls began its ministry in 1991. PMO is a mid-week Christian education program for the very young child. Parents may enroll their child in one of six classes offered each week.
PMO is designed to give children time together with other children of similar ages to learn and grow through play, and to provide their parents the opportunity to re-create, re-new, or just “be,” knowing their child is safe, happy, and well cared for. For more than 20 years, children participating in the Parents’ Morning Out program have enjoyed a variety of age-appropriate activities in a safe, clean, nurturing Christian atmosphere. PMO incorporates intentional opportunities to enhance the spiritual development of young children into every fun-filled day. Daily lesson plans include Bible stories, related songs and crafts, art projects, age-appropriate fine motor, large motor, and social skills development activities, music, healthy snacks, and supervised free play.
For more information or to add your child to the waiting list, please contact Leslie McKnight, PMO Director, at email@example.com or call 440-543-8107.
The King’s Singers
The United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls offers children in grades 1-8 the opportunity to serve in worship through our children’s choir, The King’s Singers. Under the direction of Karen Spisak, the King’s Singers rehearse each Thursday during the school year from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The choir sings monthly at the 11:00 a.m. service, and occasionally at the 8:30 a.m. service. The highlight comes in May with the presentation of the annual children’s musical. This very special event engages the members in drama, music, choreography, set design, costumes, and props; all for the purposes of teaching and sharing a special Christian message with the congregation and community. The King’s Singers provides a wonderful opportunity for children to make new friends, be an active part of worship, and add to their development and understanding of music and faith.
New Member Classes
The United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls is a growing congregation that is always welcoming of new members at any time. However, each spring and fall we offer a three-week long “New Members” class, which is taught by Rev. Snider. This class is designed to introduce people to both the United Methodist Church and our own congregation, as well as introducing them to opportunities for Christian growth and involvement in the church.
